The Michigan Fidlar eByte – April 2018
AVID Workflow Operating “Smoothly” for Houghton County
- Transition to AVID to update office technology
- Fidlar installs, configures and trains on-site
- Partners routinely receive software upgrades
- iNSPECT Advances Recording Accuracy
Houghton County has fully transitioned to the land records management system, AVID. With the change, the Clerk/Register of Deeds Office is utilizing the latest technology available from Fidlar and will be best prepared to integrate future software upgrades and modular releases from Fidlar. When starting the AVID transition, Project Managers trained on-site to acclimate staff with important aspects of the system. Once training was completed, Fidlar IT installed and configured the AVID system settings, allowing the county to quickly continue recording documents.
Additionally, office staff have implemented iNSPECT, Fidlar’s assisted-indexing feature. When used in processing, iNSPECT greatly increases recording accuracy while decreasing the chances of typographical error. Features such as iNSPECT, along with other major components of AVID are integrated within a singular system to maximize the recording abilities for the Register of Deeds office.
Fidlar strives to deliver the strongest tools and services to assist the Clerk/Register of Deeds Offices in Michigan. Our products are regularly updated, made to be current with the best practices of the recording industry and compliant with all state statutes. The AVID recording system, along with the remote-access tool Laredo, are upgraded to increase their overall value to the user, over and over. Items like the assisted-indexing application, iNSPECT, increase data integrity and consistency that is sought by both the public and private sectors.
“Having our Project Manager Lauren Davis come on-site and train everyone for our switch to AVID was great. The new AVID workflow has things rolling smoothly in the office. We always get the help we need if an issue comes up. Mark Lystiuk, our Partner Relationship Manager, has also been a great resource with the numerous ways he contributes to our office. I’m happy to get office technology that lets us perform in a more efficient manner.” – Jennifer Lorenz, Houghton County Clerk
