The Missouri Fidlar eByte: August 2017
We are pleased to announce that longtime Fidlar Partner, Franklin County, will soon transition their office to our secure hosted production environment, AVID Bastion. Bastion provides all the features of AVID with iNSPECT to users and replaces the need for an on-site server infrastructure, which, an IT department or third party company would have to maintain. The only requirement for the county is the user workstation with peripherals and an internet connection.
AVID Bastion will provide Franklin County with a higher degree of security for the Official Public Record. County data that is stored with our hosted production servers are backed up at a secondary off-site repository. If the primary server environment were to be jeopardized, the backed up data will be able to get an office resuming activity within hours of the incident.
By moving their system to this secure and reliable environment, County Recorder of Deeds Jennifer Metcalf will have peace-of-mind knowing her county’s data is safe and usable for her staff, remote searchers and her constituents.
“Security was the ultimate reason we wanted to have Bastion set up in Franklin County. Recent events in Missouri have shown just how easily things can take a turn for the worse. We want to be prepared for anything and having the Bastion service will help us to be better prepared. Franklin County had recently outsourced the IT Department and we thought it would be best to have Fidlar step in – it was ideal timing. Now we all can rely on the thought that our records will remain safe and secure.” – Jennifer Metcalf, Franklin County Recorder of Deeds
