It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.
We would like to recognize Barbara Dean of the LaPorte County Recorder’s Office in Indiana for donating her time to educate students on the importance of local government. Barbara traveled to the college campus of Purdue Northwest in Westville, Indiana to speak to a Criminal Justice class. There, she spoke to the students about the functions her office provides and the pivotal role it holds within the county.
Barbara provided the students with her personal insights and explained what authority the Recorder’s Office possesses. The functions she discussed with the students aren’t always widely known throughout the general public. Providing a clear narrative of the office’s history allows for a stronger understanding of its current significance and what it will do in the future. For some, it was quite possibly their first introduction into what the Recorder does for the community.
We would like to thank Barbara for her efforts and for donating her time to the community.
If there is anyone in your office you feel would be a goodDEEDS candidate, please contact Alex Riggen by email, alexr@fidlar.com, or call him at 309-236-4822.
