It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.

We’d like to thank Jennifer Metcalf, Franklin County Recorder of Deeds, Missouri, for her charitable efforts this last April. Jennifer had all the county offices participate with United Way’s Peanut Butter & Jelly Food Drive. The purpose of this particular food drive is to receive donated jars of peanut butter and jelly that are supplied to community food pantries. United Way’s goal in creating the PB&J Drive is to assist those families by providing food options that do not require meal preparation or the need to cook. Children who receive subsidized school lunches are often without parental supervision during the summer break, providing these simple food items will allow children to make their own lunchtime meal.

Jennifer worked with the United Way who partnered with the food pantry in Union, Missouri. A donation box was positioned in the Recorder’s Office so that cans and other food items could be collected. The box was then delivered to the pantry so that the items could be dispersed and used by local families throughout the summer months.

We would like to thank Jennifer for her efforts and for donating her time to the community.
