It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to bring awareness to various charities or organizations and build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.

We would like to recognize Recorder Linda Smith and her staff in Madison County, Indiana, for sponsoring a local food drive in their county during the INMadison_FoodDrive2month of November! 2015 marked the second year that Linda and staff have coordinated the drive. Participants began the drive by setting up drop boxes for canned goods and other donation items, as well as hanging posters throughout their courthouse.

This year, the goal for the Recorders’ Office was to involve as many departments as possible with this worthwhile endeavor. Additionally, there was involvement and contributions made by a local company, Element Material Technologies. Element’s employees were incredible in their donations, as well. As a result of everyone’s efforts, this year’s food drive was INMadison 150even more successful than what had been anticipated. The Recorders’ Office was able to make two sizable deliveries to their local Anderson Christian Center!

The mission of the drive is to gather food and supplies to contribute to the Anderson Christian Center’s kitchen which helps to feed individuals in need on a daily basis.

Thanks again to Recorder Linda Smith and her staff for their contributions to helping those in need. Her staff is already looking forward to being a part of this worthwhile cause next year!
