It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.
We would like to recognize Sarah Guenther, Green Lake County Register of Deeds, Wisconsin, for contributing to the Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area. Sarah’s involvement with the club began after she published her very own cookbook, Sarah Homed Cooked Meals Made Easy. Once the book was published, she participated in a number of local cooking competitions and even made a television appearance on a cooking show. Sarah was then asked if she would donate her culinary skill as an auction item for a Boys & Girls Club fundraiser.
Once a year, the club holds a fundraiser event called the Wearin’ and the Sharin’ the Green. The event consists of dinner, fun games, raffles, and an exciting live auction. Her auction item contribution consisted of fully preparing a gourmet meal for six. The item raised nearly $1,000 when an attendee bid $475.00, only to have it be matched by a second attendee who requested the same bid. In subsequent years, other fundraising events have had her dinners auction off for more than $1,000. This past year had Sarah preparing an hors d’oeuvre party for fifteen, which received an astonishing $5,000 bid. All of the funds received from the auctions are donated directly to the Boys & Girls Club.
The Boys & Girls Club of the Tri-County Area operates to assist young people reach their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The club serves youth ages 6 to 18, Monday through Friday, during the school year and through the summer. It currently serves over 720 children in the Tri-County Area.
Sarah loves being involved with the community and enjoys donating her time making meals for the club. She is proud to help children and families in the Tri-County Area.
We would like to thank Sarah for dedicating time and effort to contributing to her community.
