It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.
We’d like to thank Cheryl Berken, Brown County Register of Deeds, Wisconsin for volunteering her time and energy to her community. Cheryl gives effort in a number of ways to family, neighbors and youth within Brown County. Every week, Cheryl will call the bingo games at an elderly-living community where her mother lives. When the previous bingo caller had to take a job working evenings, Cheryl began calling the weekly games and has done so for the last few years.
In her neighborhood, Cheryl helps to maintain the properties of some elderly neighbors who live near her. With each changing season, she will either mow grass, rake leaves, or shovel snow from walkways and driveways.
Recently, Cheryl became a member of the Ashwaubenon Lioness Club. The club does a lot of work to serve the youth of the community. Members volunteer weekly at a local pre-kindergarten/kindergarten school to assist teachers prepare materials for the students. Cheryl’s Lioness Club is also very active with fundraising. The money raised through events like the annual school rummage sale and parking cars at Green Bay Packer games are returned to the community through various Lion/Lioness projects and local outreach programs throughout the Green Bay area.
We would like to thank Cheryl for her efforts and for donating her time to the community.
