ohmiamiIt comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.

We would like to recognize Chief Deputy Toni Mascari and Deputy Recorder Lisa Pence of the Miami County Recorder’s Office in Ohio for their participation in a number of area fundraiser events. In April 2015, Toni and Lisa entered into a Biggest Loser competition/fundraiser organized by their local Chamber of Commerce. They enjoyed the competitive part of getting healthy and the idea of raising money for charity.

Toni and Lisa decided that they would engage in more events, benefiting charities on the local and national level. Together, they participated in the Ohio State University’s 4 Miler for the Urban and Shelly Meyer charity. Toni’s favorite event was the U.S. Air Force 10K Marathon that benefited a wide range of national charities and the Dayton, Ohio Children’s Hospital. Lisa’s favorite event was the Rock and Roll Nashville Half Marathon benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

In August 2016, Toni and Lisa decided to commit themselves to participating in at least one walk/run event a month. So far, they have been able to reach their goal and have plans to participate in two events this month.

We would like to thank both Toni and Lisa for donating their time and energy to these causes.

If there is anyone in your office you feel would be a goodDEEDS candidate, please contact Alex Riggen by email, alexr@fidlar.com, or call him at 309-236-4822.
