It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.
We would like to recognize Lori Wilson and staff, Montcalm County Register of Deeds, MI, for contributing time and effort to benefit a food drive for local community food pantries. The drive, which began as a friendly competition between different county departments, had a seven-week duration. As participants gathered food items, they were met with weekly challenges for each of the seven participating departments.
At the conclusion of the drive, the Register of Deeds Office took third place in the competition with their collection of 2,000 food items! To take a total count, all the departments involved gathered on the Sheriff’s Office parking lot to view the collective donations. The food drive’s goal of 10,000 food items was surpassed with a total number of +10,700 items. Each department then selected a pantry that they wanted their items donated to, the Register of Deeds Office selected Arms of Love in Greenville, MI.
We would like to commend Lori and her staff for dedicating time and effort to contributing to their community and beyond. Additionally, we congratulate each participant for reaching the drive’s ultimate goal.
