It comes as no surprise to us that many of our county partners do more than just record Deeds — they perform goodDEEDS. We thought it would be a great idea to share as many of these stories as possible. By doing so we hope to raise awareness of the various charities and organizations they contribute to. We want to build their momentum and effectiveness in achieving their very important goals.
We would like to recognize County Recorder Ann M. Radcliffe of the Lake County Recorder’s Office in Ohio for donating her time assisting her public review their property deeds at a recurring event called “Good Deeds”. The purpose of the event is to educate and inform homeowners and their families on how to prepare their deeds to allow for the proper transfer of assets after the loss of a loved one. Each event is a collaborative effort between Ann, the Lake County Probate Judge Mark Bartolotta, and the Lake County Clerk of Courts Maureen G. Kelly.
County residents are encouraged to obtain a copy of their current title deed so that they can have it inspected by county officials and local attorneys who are also present at the Good Deeds event. Residents’ deeds are taken through a review process to determine if it would need to be transferred through the Probate Court, attendees are then able to discuss what their options are to minimize Probate Court involvement. From the event, residents are able to evaluate what action needs to be taken in order to allow for the best transfer of personal property in the event of a lost loved one.
The next Good Deeds event will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 6:00 p.m., at the Wickliffe Senior Center, 900 Worden Road, Wickliffe, Ohio.
We would like to thank Ann for her efforts and for donating her time to the community.
