The Wisconsin Fidlar eByte – March 2018
Buffalo County: Expectations Exceeded 1 Year Later
- AVID reduces need for multiple vendors
- BASTION hosting service provides peace of mind
- Remote access tools provide options for searchers
- Increased potential for additional office revenue
We are pleased to share the successes of the Buffalo County Register of Deeds Office as a Fidlar County Partner. By selecting Fidlar as a software vendor, Buffalo County was able to gain access to more services from one source. This move streamlined operations and ultimately increased convenience for their office and their constituents. Our land records management system, AVID, combines the components of document imaging, redaction, eRecording functions and more, eliminating previous integration required from multiple vendors. With these functions located conveniently together, AVID provides each user with enhanced abilities and a smooth operating platform for processing.
When Buffalo County implemented AVID they chose Fidlar’s BASTION hosted server environment. AVID BASTION eliminates the need for counties to purchase and maintain servers on premise and permits for a higher security against growing cyber threats and natural disaster. Buffalo County data will be stored and hosted with Fidlar production servers that are backed up to a secondary off-site repository. Register of Deeds Carol Burmeister will have peace of mind knowing that their Official Public Record will remain secure and maintained to the highest degree.
Buffalo County has also increased access to their records via Laredo/Tapestry. Fidlar’s remote access suite of products allows for land records to reach a larger market outside of the immediate locale. The subscription-based Laredo and online-based Tapestry provide the searcher with more options to best suit their needs. Both services provide the Register’s Office with strong reporting features that grants the ability to monitor items such as account usage and charges made per user. Along with offering Laredo/Tapestry, Buffalo County has also integrated Monarch into their remote access offerings which allows for data and/or images to be distributed securely and conveniently to users, automatically.
“Now that Buffalo County has been with Fidlar for a year, I can happily say that we selected the right vendor! I feel we’ve been able to make great improvements in many different areas. The tools and services we are able to use are powerful and much more flexible than what we had previously. I’m also happy to have BASTION in place to better protect our records – our 3rd party IT vendor encouraged us to move forward with it. Increasing our remote access revenue has also been wonderful, we have more options for searching and Fidlar handles all the support!” – Carol Burmeister, Buffalo County Register of Deeds
