Fidlar Hosts 2016 User Group Meeting For Kansas Partners

Last month, we hosted the User Group Meeting for all Kansas Fidlar Partners. Officials met with Al Vital, Territory Manager, and Mark Lystiuk, Partner Relationship Manager, to discuss this year’s progress and the plans for the future. Officials were given a preview of new developments including iNSPECT, our assisted-indexing technology and the recently launched Official Records Online service. The meeting was yet another positive event consisting of many great discussions, which generated excitement for the future of our partnerships.
During the meeting, it was announced that Alex Slaby will soon be taking on the role of Partner Relationship Manager within the state of Kansas. In the coming months, Alex will work closely with Mark to prepare him for his role in serving the needs of our County Partners in Kansas.

Jefferson County Provides Value to Submitters with eRecording

We are pleased to announce that Jefferson County will soon be accepting eRecordings! Register of Deeds Delia Heston will enable documents to be submitted electronically to the Jefferson County Register’s Office. eRecording diminishes the delays and costs involved with mailing or hand-delivering the same documents for recording. By utilizing this technology, Jefferson County can better serve their constituents by offering current and advanced processing methods that are becoming more and more commonplace on the national level.

By utilizing this technology, Leavenworth County can better serve their constituents by offering current and advanced processing methods that are becoming more and more commonplace on the national level.

AVID Search: Convenience for Shawnee County Staff & Constituents

We are excited to announce that the Shawnee County Register of Deed’s Office is now using and finding invaluable features within AVID Search daily. Fidlar understands the need to retrieve recorded information more efficiently within the Register’s Office. The solution was developed and delivered: AVID Search. The tool is integrated within AVID and allows users to search their entire database quickly and conveniently via a single entry field. It also possesses a variety of filters to generate more accurate results. AVID Search not only obtains results for the inquiry, but also provides the searcher with associated documents numbers, transaction history and returned to information.

CFPB Regulation Advocates Statewide Adoption of Flat Fees

New regulations established by CFPB-TRID has encouraged lenders and submitters to push their states to adopt a set, flat fee for recording document. This is due in part to a greater priority being set on delivering accurate recording fee amounts to customers before closings. Any discrepancies could delay the closing or cost the lender $1,000’s in fines.

In 2010, Wisconsin Counties established their statewide flat fee for recording; where before there was a wide range in filing fees from county to county that changed based on document types, page counts and more. Once the Wisconsin legislation passed, Fidlar assisted each Wisconsin County Partner to correctly charge appropriate amounts to account for these changes and we would do the same again for our Kansas County Partners.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if in the future, the CFPB-TRID will encourage or even lobby State Government and even the Federal Government to make it law that all states have the same filing fees. Establishing a flat fee could also resolve the issue of being short or long on finances. By gradually eliminating the Mortgage Registration fee, Kansas State Government has required a fee increase per page each year until 2017 to make up for the difference. However, if a flat fee is established as law or statue, we will follow with due diligence.” – Brenda Pogue, Ford County Recorder, Kansas

Fidlar Assists Jefferson County Sustain Changes Brought by Bill 2643

In May 2014, Kansas Register of Deeds Offices were affected by the passing of House Bill 2643. The bill’s purpose was to establish new submitter fees and charges to documents being submitted to those offices. Changes in these costs were made as to counteract lost revenue within the state. Additionally, legislation around the bill instated an annual adjustment to these costs through 2019. Fidlar knows how important it is for partners to make sure that all changes are accounted for and that fee amounts and fund distribution are done quickly, with 100% accuracy. The Fidlar production team accomplished this with great success.
